today

Today I (briefly) considered jacking in my newly gained university place...well, not that recent, it feels like I have been going for so long, to develop my financial career. I think that maybe I have been here so long (all of 9 months) that now I am scared to leave again, whereas while I am away it's easy to come up with plans and think about everything I want to do. I think it's called th Isle of Man effect. Something to do with being an island? I am moving by post...the cheapest way...then me, the guitar I can't play and rucksack full of books will be getting the ferry and the train. My favourite thing about getting the train is the opportunity to read, listen to music, and stare out the window and make shapes out of the clouds.

Billy from Neighbours

House is on, I'm not really watching it but every time I see it I feel so happy for Billy from Neighbours (Jesse Spencer) for having a proper job. After Neighbours he came to England to act and he was definitely in one thing and then disappeared without trace. Josie and I had a big thing for Billy back in 1998.
Julia's wedding was last weekend. I spent many hours on a train and got annoyed with flybe for being delayed (there are certain advantages to living in the Isle of Man and then there is the one big disadvantage...it just takes so much planning to go anywhere!). Norwich is also not the easiest place to get to, but I did enjoy it. Norwich is very pretty, with some old cobbled bits and big weeping willows along the river and I liked Julia's style for the actual wedding idea...with main themes of pink, chocolate and ceilidh dancing. Very cool. Josie told me that our pat-a-cake routine made it onto the wedding video. Julia, maybe I can employ you to plan my wedding if I ever have one, you can pretend to be Jennifer Lopez. 16 working days left....so weird considering I have had a long time to get used to this idea and made a conscious decision to do the whole thing. I have paid my first months rent and deposit, all I have to do is pack and then book a ferry ticket. I thought it might be best not to fly as that plane to Glasgow is tiny and I have a lot of belongings! Dad I think is a bit disappointed that he's not taking me...he has always taken me when I've moved - to the point of flying to France with me so that I could have his baggage allowance!

zombies

I saw Dawn of the Dead last night, and I will have to completely re-think my idea of zombies and method of escape should they ever attack. Cor those things moved fast! Shaun certainly got lucky with his slow lumbering zombies. And a new-born zombie? Controversial.

Had my first attempt at surfing this week, as a novice used to being able to breathe when I get in the sea (from not-so-recent scuba diving experience) I got a bit of a shock. 2 goals for next time, keep my mouth closed and think about standing up!

The move to Edinburgh is about 5 weeks away now. Yikes.
