Theatre

Recent theatre experiences highlight the ease with which people sell their souls to the devil. In the case of 'Tonight's the Night' which I saw last night and thought was brilliant, one lucky individual got the soul of Rod Stewart. In Faust, which was last week's theatre treat, one well-timed threesome saw the devil acquiring a new soul.
Three minutes to make that decision? Takes me longer than that to decide what to have for lunch.

Cheese gives you nightmares

Given the incredibly rubbish timing of being broken up with, extraordinarily large amounts of rather difficult work to do (left to the last minute due to the aforementioned break-up and preceding general crapness) and an almost obsessive interest in being really nice to myself, I am probably going to get really rubbish marks this term.
Being nice to myself constitutes great food, dates with myself to eat really great food (steak, asparagus and pepper sauce, special camembert fondu usually reserved for Christmas Eve) dark ale, dark plays (Faust) and watching very scary shit your pants type films. In the spirit of this we went to see The Hills Have Eyes last night. Despite being grossed out by seeing a misshapen nuclear accident of a human being 'feasting' on breast milk, and several stumpy necks bleeding profusely where a head should have been, I was not that scared. Creep similarly did not freak me out too much, as long as I know at least one person will make it out alive I am quite happy. Am I becoming immune? Maybe what scares me most is that scary movie 4 is about to hit cinemas.

Edinburgh International Festival

This year's about to get good.....I have a part-time job ccoming up, which means I will be able to indulge my New Years Resolutions of drinking more, having more fun and buying girly stuff. Plus, there's a potential for a festival job at the Edinburgh International Festival, as I'll likely be here in August.

In celebration of being single, I have been buying random food (people I live with are probably hating this phase, food that smells funky always cheers me up) and pondering the big questions, such as why is Leith Walk always covered in smashed eggs?

There will also be planning for Dublin coming up. Ryanair is truly something to be thankful for, as are €11 youth hostels. Can't wait.
