It's 2005 already?

It is the first day of the first month of the year 2005. The first thing I sai when I got up was White Rabbits, in my croaky, talked too much and probably shouted too much last night voice. And unfortunately for anyone standing too near me, yes I even sang. The wrong words to Auld Lang Syne, as obviously no-one knows them. I have just found a site with the lyrics, and will be both learning them and passing them around my friends for next year. Here they are.

Also on this site is a list of the most commonly made New Year’s Resolutions. I’ve copied them below. Please be patient with me as I try to keep at least 9 out of these 10 this year and probably become an extremely dull individual in the process.

Top 10 Most Common New Year Resolutions
1. Lose weight
2. Stop smoking
3. Stick to a budget
4. Save or earn more money
5. Find a better job
6. Become more organized
7. Exercise more
8. Be more patient at work/with others
9. Eat better
10. Become a better person
As a preliminary start to this I spent some time yesterday on this “Lateral Thigh Trainer” thing I found at home. Unfortunately I left the calorie counter on to show you how many calories you have burned. After 10 minutes and approximately 14 calories I got bored and went to eat a couple of slices of stollen.
Last night was probably one of my best New Year’s Eve’s. We had Indian food, pass the parcel (that was my baby, I even played mum with the stopping of the music), ibble dibble (burnt cork black marks on the forehead as everyone became increasingly incoherent), Katherine’s trodden on home made cookies, that game where you re a famous person and have to guess who you are, Twister, many digital photographs of aforementioned Twister, Auld Lang Syne in the street as previously mentioned, an army flare going off, allowing Paul to escape from the singing, a big cake with lots of candles, and finally a few tears and a dark haired male with a piece of coal and a piece of silver over the threshold. Thank you Jenny and Paul for the invitation and for being great and slightly slurr-y hosts.
So, Happy New Year. I hope that it is prosperous and delightful and lovely. And fun. I hope that 2005 is fun, whatever you are doing. Love Katie.
